Reginald Wee is Division Director (Programs) at the Singapore International Foundation. He has 24 years of global work experience, including 11 years in the private sector, and 13 in Statutory Boards. He has held leadership and regional positions in the private and public sectors, and has had 3 overseas postings in both developed (France, US) and emerging economies (India).

He started his working career in as an engineer in the semiconductor sector where he co-developed successful and profitable commercial integrated circuit products. He moved on to marketing products for Texas Instruments, a US MNC, where he held Asia-Pacific product-line responsibility and worked with virtual teams across Asia to grow yearly profit and revenue.

Reginald moved from the private sector to the public sector by joining the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) as a Head in the Electronics Cluster. He was posted to work in Chicago, where he became Coordinating Centre Director, and later Regional Director for Central US. Whilst at the EDB, he led teams responsible for attracting significant and ground-breaking foreign investments in the semiconductor equipment, chemicals, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

After his US posting, Reginald transferred to International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, as Regional Director for South Asia. He led his team of HQ and India-based staff to operationalise Singapore’s trade and outward investment engagements with India. This included direct engagement with leaders in India’s Private and Public sector, and organising Business Delegations to uncover and close win-win projects. After his India posting, he returned to Singapore to take up a HQ role as Group Director (Technology Business). In both roles, he prepared and mentored young trade commissioners for overseas postings, and found that he derived satisfaction in making a difference to people’s lives.

Reginald is a graduate of Purdue University – BSc (Distinction), Electronic & Computer Engineering, and also of Rutgers University – Exec MBA with Distinction. He is married with 3 daughters.
